A perfect weekend escape to the lush Ananthagiri region — two stunning waterfalls, a camp on a breathtaking viewpoint, and a night of stars in between.
This weekend is all about waterfalls, viewpoints and peaceful villages. Day one ends at Jalada waterfall — lunch, a long swim, and a short climb to camp at Thankotamma viewpoint, 1,100 m up with the valley below. Day two starts with sunrise from the viewpoint and walks to Pedabayalu waterfall before a traditional village lunch and the drive home. Short distances, big rewards — one of our most beginner-friendly camping treks.

Questions, answered
How hard are the walks?
Gentle — about 3 km on day one and 5 km on day two, at an easy pace. Fine from age 6.
Can we swim at the falls?
Yes — at both Jalada and Pedabayalu, with the leads watching conditions. Pack quick-dry clothes.
Where do we camp?
On the Thankotamma viewpoint at about 1,100 m, beside the village — tents, mattresses and sleeping bags provided.
When is it best?
July to April. Monsoon for thundering falls and mist; winter for clear skies and the sea of clouds at sunrise.
